BIO

Adele has been painting since the age of eighteen.  After eleven years in a scientific profession she chose to follow her lifelong dream of becoming  a full time, trained and professional artist.

Adele studied Fine Arts at Okanagan University College, in Kelowna, British Columbia and at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Alberta earning a BFA with distinction in 2007.

She is the co-founder of a clean water humanitarian project in the country of Haiti, where she lived and worked for several years.  Her experiences in the laboratory and working in the developing world have deeply influenced her and inform her work as a painter and sculptor.

She is inspired by the powerful imagery found in nature and the impact of natural processes and how they relate to mother earth, to time, to decay and to renewal. Like the unpredictability of nature, her processes yield unexpected physical interactions and unusual results. Incapable of being completely controlled or determined in advance, these creations may be capricious, uncertain, variable and startling.  The result – organic, natural, and earthy artwork.
